Vehicle lifting gang busted, 17 vehicles recovered

The anti-car lifting cells of Tatara police station and Town police station on Thursday arrested eight suspects allegedly involved stealing vehicles and snatching valuable mobile phones from citizens at gunpoint. Police during an operation also recovered 17 stolen vehicles.
According to a statement issued by SP Cantt Zaneer Ahmed Cheema, the accused were the residents of district Dir, Charsadda and Peshawar.
The suspects include two dangerous robbers who were actively involved Hayatabad area of the provincial capital.
SP Cantt said that two suspects were allegedly involved in car lifting while two other were in stealing and changing engine chassis.
A robber, who has been identified as Sajid Ali Lala Musa was also wanted in a robbery of Rs 30 million to police.
The recovered vehicles were stolen from Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Peshawar, said police officials said that real owners of the vehicles have been traced.
Police during the operation have also recovered around 34 mobile phones, Rs1150, 000 snatched from people.
