Two terrorists killed in gun battle with CTD in Lakki Marwat

Two terrorists were killed by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) during an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat on Wednesday. According to a press release issued by the CTD, the operation was conducted on the reported presence of terrorists in the general area of Lakki Marwar’s Pezo.
During the operation, an intense fire exchange occurred between the officials of CTD and terrorists, resulting in the killing of two terrorists,” it said.
The CTD claimed weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists who were members of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Tipu Gul group.
The slain terrorists have been identified as Tanveer Hasan and Muneeb Ahmed, residents of Lakki Marwat.
The statement said that the terrorists were involved in the bomb attack on DSP Iqbal Mohmand and other officials of the security forces.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of DSP CTD Lakki Marwat while SHO and officials of CTD also took part in the operation.
Law enforcement agency officials claimed that two Kalashnikovs, eight Kalashnikov magazines with 32 cartridges, two Bandoliers and two hand grenades have been recovered by the police, while some of the terrorists also managed to escape.
The police party remained safe from the terrorists’ firing. The CTD has registered a case under the Terrorism Act and started an investigation.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned terrorists are among the active members of Tipu Gul group of TTP, which is responsible for bombing CTD and local police, attacks on police, said CTD.
