The Insaf Students Federation (ISF), student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has condemned the treatment of Imran Khan in prison, calling for his immediate release and the withdrawal of all false charges against him.
Speaking at a joint press conference, ISF leaders, including Musharraf Khan Afridi, Azhar Khan Ghaznavi, Murad Baghi, and Sanaullah Shah Khattak, criticized the federal government’s actions against Khan and his family.
They emphasized that the government has gone to the extent of imprisoning Khan’s relatives, who have no involvement in politics.
The ISF also raised concerns about the oppressive restrictions on student unions, urging the government to lift the bans imposed during General Zia-ul-Haq’s era. They called for greater security for former Minister Murad Saeed, citing threats to his life.
The ISF leaders showed water from Adiala Jail, alleging that Khan was being denied basic rights despite court orders. They vowed to hold protests across the province demanding his release.
The ISF also condemned the widespread arrests of PTI workers, calling on the government to end its “lawlessness” and allow PTI candidates to contest elections freely.
The ISF leaders concluded by appealing to the “powerful circles” to withdraw all false cases against PTI members and to stop obstructing their political participation.
