The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced drone technology to enhance emergency response during floods and other natural disasters, said a handout.
The newly acquired drone, capable of delivering life jackets, ropes, and other critical supplies, was demonstrated on Tuesday in Peshawar.
The demonstration was attended by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah, along with Secretary Relief, Director General PDMA, and other senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah said the province’s emergency response plan has been reviewed and steps were being taken to reduce response time during disasters.

He added that efforts were underway to enhance the operational capacity of rescue teams and involve local communities through emergency preparedness training.
Shahb Ali Shah stated that tourist hotels across KP will be required to keep essential safety equipment, including boats, ropes, and life jackets, readily available.
The CS also announced that the early warning system was being digitized, with new initiatives such as the ‘Relief Pulse’ mobile app, social media alerts, and a centralized digital dashboard to issue timely warnings and coordinate responses.
