In a breakthrough, the Peshawar police have solved a blind murder case, arresting the killer couple involved in the murder of a young man from Buner. The accused, identified as the victim’s fiancée and her accomplice, were arrested within a week of the incident.
According to the police, the victim, Abrar, was shot dead on March 27 in the limits of Tatara police station. The police launched an investigation and formed a special team to probe the case. The team, led by SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif and supervised by DSP Peshawar Circle Muhammad Ashfaq Khan, included SHO Tatara Police Station Qamar Shahzad, investigative officers, and lady police officers.
During the investigation, the police found contradictions in the statements of the victim’s fiancée, which led to further interrogation. The accused fiancée, daughter of Mahboob Khan, confessed to her involvement in the murder, revealing that she had planned the crime with her accomplice, Zahoor, son of Ramiz. The police arrested Zahoor and recovered the murder weapon and the vehicle used in the crime.
The accused fiancée was shifted to the Women Police Station for further investigation.
The police are still investigating the case and have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests.
